Norwegian A2
Norwegian A2 is one of NooA’s online Norwegian courses based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. We also offer the online courses Norwegian B1 and Norwegian B2.
You can study at your own pace and level with the aim of learning Norwegian at a basic level. The course provides an individual tutor and prepares you for the public exam in Norwegian level A2.
Your Norwegian language skills should be on level A1 before you start this Norwegian A2 course. You should also have access to people outside the course with whom you can practice Norwegian. It is possible to combine this course with full-time or part-time work or training.

Price: NOK 4400
Duration: You have access to the course for 120 days from the day you sign up.
Study hours: You should expect to spend about 60 hours to complete the course. However, the time participants spend on Norwegian A2 varies a lot and depends on how much Norwegian they know before they start.
Course material
Course material included in the course price: Norwegian A2 includes access to the online resources at Veien inn A2 (Min vei, Fagbokforlaget), individual follow-up and supervision, access to extra materials and you will have tests like written exercises with full feedback, you will also have video chat and other digital communication opportunities in order to help students to connect with other participants who are taking the course and you will get a place to chat and help each other through out your learning session.

Target audience: Norwegian A2 is developed for people who want to learn Norwegian in a flexible way with online courses instead of classroom teaching. The ability to work at your own pace allows for faster progress, and the course can easily be combined with work. You can continue with NooA’s online courses Norwegian B1 and Norwegian B2.
Prerequisites: You should be on level A1 before you start Norwegian A2.
Feedback and certification: Each study unit has an assignment that the teacher comments and assesses. When all required coursework is completed, you will receive a personal course badge as shown in the illustration. If you like, you can share your badge on LinkedIn, Facebook etc.
Exam Norwegian A2
Here you will find information about the current exam: Norskprøve – can be submitted on several levels. Level A2 is applicable after this course.
Course description
This course follows Læreplan i norsk for voksne innvandrere – nivå A1-B2 which states:
«At this level, the participants can understand very simple everyday language, and can express themselves easily on topics related to their own person and family, close surroundings and work. The participants can cope in simple and routine conversation situations with direct exchange of information on known matters, if people speak slowly and clearly and are supportive.»
The course comprises the following study units:
- Personal themes are about family and housing, personal finances, lifestyle and diet, traditions and beliefs, as well as leisure and social media.
- Public themes deal with holidays and celebrations, Norway, institutions and culture.
- Training is about higher education, work and assessment schemes.
- Work life is about job search as well as laws and regulations related to employment.
Each study unit ends with an assignment with feedback from the tutor. You will also be offered a voluntary Skype meeting with the teacher during the course.
