In the introductory section, you will find course forum, where all participants can write posts to the teacher and with each other anytime throughout the course. After the introduction, the lesson begins with course module.
Target audience: This course is for primary & secondary school children (8 years and above) and for absolute beginners (adults) who want to cultivate their 3D design skills in modern digital world. Tinkercad is used by designers, hobbyists, teachers and kids, to make toys, prototypes, home decor, Minecraft models, jewelry – the list is truly endless.
Goal: After the course, you can understand the basics of 3D design and can relate them to topics around themselves about product design. You will be more familiar with 3D space, computer mouse controls, TinkerCad software user interface & commands and will be able to create 3D models that could be printed on a 3D printer.
Tuition fees: NOK 990 (for both child and parent)
Duration: You have access to the course for 90 days from the day you sign up.
Study time: The amount of time spent on the course can vary a lot. An average participant will need about 30 hours to complete the course.
Certification: When you have completed all the assignments, you will receive an Open Badge verifying your course completion. Your badge is shown in the picture and you will receive a link to your personal badge. If you like, you can share your badge on LinkedIn, Facebook etc,
This course uses the online resource «TinkerCad«. When you start the course in TinkerCad you must create your own username and password. TinkerCad is a simple, browser based 3D modeling tool for all. It allows users to imagine anything and then design it in minutes. You don’t have to download or install software, and is intuitive and easy to use. Students will learn the basics of creating digital 3D-models, that could be printed on a 3D printer. 3D designs that you create with TinkerCad are stored in the cloud, so you can easily access them from anywhere just with a PC and internet connection. Course participants receive close follow-up and individual guidance to further develop. You can ask questions to your teacher throughout the course. In addition, you will get advice and tips here in the course portal, as well as the Teachers guidance.
The course is divided into 4 modules: Course module 1, 2, 3, & 4. You have to go through modules with e-book & explanatory videos, assignments with & without guidance and assignment submission.
Mechanical Engineer with 15 years of experience in product design across various industries like Automobile, Oil & Gas, Electromechanical etc. Apart from his product design experience, his experience also involves teaching mechanical design software to Engineering college students. He has handled technology classes for secondary school students in Hovedgården Ungdomsskole, Borgen Ungdomsskole & Vollen Ungdomsskole at Asker Kommune. He has also conducted training programs for teachers at Vollen Ungdomsskole. He is well known for his seminars about 3D Design & 3D Printing and how it could influence common people and private & public sector companies.
